Activity Title: Nautical Trivia

Intervention: Participant is given the opportunity to enhance cognition while answering trivia questions with a nautical theme.

Nautical Trivia Questions:

Activity Title: The Best Things in Life Are Free 

Intervention: Gives participant the opportunity to meet spiritual and emotional needs by practicing gratitude.
The Best Things In Life are Free

Think of 10 things that you cherish in your life that doesn't cost money. This is a great way to start a gratitude journal!

Hugs
Advice

Instructions: 
Number you paper from 1-10 and write down your list or draw a picture of one thing that you cherish the most. If possible, discuss and share with someone else. Individuals can journal for future reference and additions to their list. Remember, it has to be things that do not cost money! 

Optional: Find a bible verse and/or quote regarding gratitude to expand on topic and to further meet spiritual needs.

Activity: Tin Can Ice Cream

Intervention: Gives participant the opportunity to use creativity with cooking as well as motor skills as they make ice cream in a tin can.

Coloring for Relaxation (All Ages)

Activity Title: Mandala

Intervention: Participant is given the opportunity to enhance relaxation and creativity while coloring a Mandala.

Instructions: Read/Discuss the following information and distribute copies of mandalas along with colored pencils, paint, or crayons. Remember to start in the middle of the mandala and work your way out. 

DRAWING AND COLORING MANDALAS:
Mandala is Sanskrit for circle, polygon, community and connection. The circle concept exists in nature, is found in many religious symbols and represents wholeness. Mandalas are intricate designs that can be a part of the meditating experience. When you color a mandala, your goal is to focus on the process of coloring, and be mindful of how it feels to color. It is very relaxing and calming. When you have finished, you have created a lovely picture. 

*A simple web search for printable mandalas is sure to bring many options.
